Her father George, was lost in WW2 when she was only 5 years old.  At the age of 18, she relocated to Connecticut  with her Mother and her new husband Claude Tanner. Margaret leaves behind her devoted husband of 59 years, Daniel Higgins. Together, they blended their previous children and two new children to the marriage. The five children formed a long lasting, blended family and blessed her with 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. She is survived by her children Cynthia Savluk (Roger) of CT, Roy (Leslie) of TN, Kelly Nave  (Jerry) of ID, Patricia of WA and FL, and Daniel of CT. She also leaves behind many dear friends in CT and FL.
She is also survived by sisters Roberta Day of CA and Cheryl Marsh of MS. She was pre deceased by a brother Claude Tanner. Many nieces and nephews also feel the sadness of her loss.

Peggy was employed by the State of Connecticut as an LPN at the Norwich state Hospital for 23 years and continued private duty nursing for several more years. Upon Dan's retirement from the Navy, they owned and operated a family campground in Connecticut.  Peggy was always involved with crafts, engaging her children in them as well. Mostly ceramics and needle craft.  The family hobby was boating and fishing, engaging the children in forever learning about the ocean and boating life.  She was a member of Shennecossett Yacht Club in Groton, CT.   At retirement, in 1999 Peggy and Dan moved to Barefoot Bay, FL, where they continued boating activities with the Barefoot Bay Boat Club.

Peggy suffered from multiple medical issues for the last three years, finally succumbing to them on September 19, 2023.

Peggy was a parishioner at St Luke's Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay.
