Margaret “Maggie” Q. Funsch, 97, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026.

Born on November 25, 1928, in Orlando, Florida, Margaret was a proud, multi-generational Floridian. She was raised in the Rockledge area, where she spent the majority of her life. She had a deep appreciation for her roots and took great joy in sharing family stories, local history, and cherished photographs with those around her.

Margaret graduated from Cocoa High in 1949. She began working in Cocoa Village at the original Murdock's grocery store in her teens. Over the years, she continued her career in several antique and gift shops in the Village. Her entrepreneurial spirit eventually led her to open her own clothing consignment shop, Champagne Taste, which she operated until retiring at the age of 72.

Retirement brought Margaret even more opportunities to enjoy life. She stayed active with bunco groups, regular lunches with friends, and weekly gin rummy games. She especially loved planning and hosting dinners and parties, bringing family and friends together.

Margaret is survived by her children: John Charles of Rockledge, Ken Charles of Cocoa and Laurie-Funsch Simmons of Sebastian

A lifelong animal lover, Margaret had a special place in her heart for all creatures, especially her cats. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Florida Wildlife Hospital in Palm Shores or the Brevard Humane Society in Cocoa —causes that Margaret regularly supported. Afterall, Maggie loved the critters!
