IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Alice
(Faith) Long
July 21, 1927 – February 8, 2026
Margaret Alice (Faith) Long, 98, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away on February 8th, 2026.
Margaret was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on July 21st, 1927 to Glen and Esther (Carter) Faith. After a brief first marriage, she later married Leslie Long and together they made their home in Taylor, Michigan where Leslie worked for Cadillac and Margaret was employed as a hotel server. In 1984, Margaret and Leslie survived the Baguio-Pines hotel fire in the Philippines while attending a commemorative tour for US WWII servicemen.
In 1993 Margaret moved with her husband, mother, and eldest daughter to Palm Bay, Florida, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
Though small in stature–standing well under five feet–Margaret had a feisty personality. She loved game shows and playing cards, and usually won. She enjoyed baby back ribs, the occasional screwdriver, and butter pecan ice cream, sharing the leftovers with her beloved dog. She loved receiving letters and was a keen observer of the mail carrier's punctuality.
Margaret was dedicated to her family and helped in many ways through the generations, even opening her home to raise her great-granddaughter, Danielle (Haddle) Garrison of Melbourne. Margaret had a strong interest in genealogy and researched and preserved documents and photographs going back many generations, leaving behind a treasured family history for her descendants.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-four years, Leslie Long; her daughter Diana Moates; her son Randy Hoch; and her daughter-in-law Sandy Hoch.
She is survived by her daughter Leslie (David) Neighbors; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
