Maggie Jo Lohmann

Maggie Jo Lohmann (84) took the stairway to heaven on October 4, 2014. Maggie was born on September 15, 1930 in Louisburg, North Carolina to Furney and Lizzie Strother.

In 1948, she graduated from Park View School of Nursing in Rocky Mountain, NC. Always dedicated and determined, she ranked 6th in her class. She commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy in December 1953 and spent three years serving our country, as a Navy nurse. Her service set the conditions for spending the rest of her life doing what she loved most taking care of others.

Maggie Jo married Albert Sigmond Lohmann on September 6, 1956. Together they welcomed three beautiful children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Maggie leaves behind her husband of fifty-eight years, children Michael (Shelly) Lohmann, Paula (Joe) Pedone, Richard (Debbie) Lohmann, Sister Marie Ernesti, Brother, Harry (Vanessa) Strother. Grandchildren, Amber (David) Giganti, Crystal (Robert) Swiatek, Justin Pedone, Kathryn Pedone, Jessica (Brian) Phillips and Great Grandchildren Griffin and Emma Giganti.

Maggie was reunited with her parents as well as five of her brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude's Children's hospital; a foundation close to Maggie's big heart.
