Dr. Sara Lynn Banks died Sunday, November 15, 2015. Lynn was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1939 and moved to the town of Indialantic with her family in 1973. She was happily married for 42 years to Douglas Banks until his passing in 2004.
She worked in the community as a Licensed Psychologist for over thirty years after earning her Doctorate in Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1982. She had her own private practice, Brevard Counseling Center, for over 15 years. She served as the Program Director for the Graduate Counseling Program at Rollins College and Webster University. Her greatest joy was being a teacher and a mentor to her students.
She enjoyed international travel, Broadway musicals, the beach and her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Banks; son, Trent Banks; daughter, Erin Miles; son-in-law, Eric Miles; grandson, Conner Miles; granddaughter, Megan Miles; sister, Lee Wood; brother, Steve Groves; and her two beloved birds Wickie and Pixie.
Lynn was very much loved and will be missed by many.
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Eau Gallie, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 3-5pm.
