Lynda J. Coleman of Palm Beach, FL passed away peacefully August 6, 2020, surrounded by her husband, grandchildren and devoted dog Lani. Beloved wife of 60 wonderful years to Lawrence P. Coleman, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Regina (McCarthy) Unsworth. She was the loving mother of Lauryne Coleman and her husband William Ehlert of Richmond. She was preceeded in death by her beloved son Capt. Gregory J. Coleman CFD. Devoted grandmother to Jennifer (Gregory) Senape, Kevin (Jenna) Ehlert and Tyler Dane (Katie) Coleman. Doting great grandmother to Theodore and Sheldon. She was the sister of Gayle Russo. She also leaves her lifelong best friend Madeline Rogers.
She grew up in Warwick and she and Larry eventually settled in Warwick to raise their family. Later they moved to East Greenwich and eventually Coventry before retiring to Florida.
Lynda was a successful businesswoman as the owner of Mrs C's Washery in Pawtucket from 1982-2006. She loved taking care of her family. She was famous for her elaborate holiday dinners which featured huge festive gatherings of extended family and friends. She loved to bake and was especially famous for her cheesecake. She enjoyed taking her family on trips, especially to the island of St Maarten, which she visited many times over the past 35 years. She was incredibly generous and will be missed immensely by a large number of family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held in Rhode Island at a time convenient to her family.
