Lucille L. Grillo of Melbourne, FL passed away peacefully at home on April 20th, 2025 at the age 92. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 28th, 1932 to Frank L. La Gamba and Elizabeth R. (Azon) La Gamba, Lucille grew up an only child and attended New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn. Early in her life Lucille went to secretarial school and worked as a typist in downtown Manhattan, NYC.

Lucille married Jerry J. Grillo in 1952 and moved to Massapequa, NY in 1955 to begin their family. In 1959 they moved to Melbourne, FL where they raised three children. Lucille took pride in cooking and taking care of her family every day, ensuring her children had a safe and happy home.

Lucille was a devout Catholic and a founding member of Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL. She served on several church committees and groups over the years and spent many hours volunteering at the Ascension Catholic Church Thrift Shop. She supported Jerry during his journey to becoming the Knights of Columbus Florida State Deputy.

Lucille and Jerry loved to dance, especially to their favorite song, Proud Mary by CCR. Lucille loved gardening and feeding peanuts to her squirrel friends who came running when she came out. Lucille will also be remembered for her fondness of giraffes and collecting many toy giraffes of all types and sizes.

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Elizabeth, husband Jerry, and grandson Roger Beatty Jr.

Lucille is survived by her son Gerald (Sherry) Grillo of West Melbourne, FL; daughter Doreen Rider of Palm Bay, FL; and daughter Donna (Bryce) Ford of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren Tamara Beatty, Heather Bauer, Jarrett Grillo, and Jacob Grillo; four great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service is planned for Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N. Harbor City Blvd. Melbourne, FL 32935. She will be interred with Jerry at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
