Obituary

Liz Beth McCurtain Estel, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2016 in Rockledge, Florida. She was born to the late Frank Allen McCurtain and Jimmie Martha Duke on July 26, 1932.

She was the loving wife of the late Arthur John Estel. Mother of 8 children, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Loving sister to Nannette Wallace, and Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom is most remembered for her creativity; her talents spanned from oil paints to food. Mom's lovely singing voice is the reason her children have an eclectic taste in music - her car, her radio station. She is also fondly remembered by all for her eye-twinkling smiles, blowing kisses and hugs for everyone. Her greatest passion (after her husband and children and mystery novels) was her sweets - chocolates and jelly beans. No one could visit Mom without replenishing her stash of which she always offered a piece, or two back. We are so grateful for the love, and artistic talents she shared and passed on to us. She has joined our grandparents, our late father, "Arty", our late sisters, Kathleen Sherrod Young and Dawn Sherrod Torres in that better place. She will be greatly missed by us, her surviving children, Russell Sherrod, Gary Sherrod, Kristi Estel De Seve, Lesli Estel Asbury, Charles Estel and Stacey Estel.

Our family would like to express our gratitude to Wuesthoff Hospital and Wuesthoff Hospice House for their wonderful care in her final days and hours. Many thanks to the staff and neighbors at Huntington Place Rehab Facility, for their great care and comfort while she stayed there.

Memorial Services are planned for future dates and places.
