Obituary

In Loving Memory of Linda Zada Holton-Hamilton, age 79, who went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 18th, 2023.


Linda was born in Lafayette, Indiana on March 3rd, 1944 to the late Ivan and Ermine (Holton) Hamilton.


She graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana (1962) where she was a Drum Majorette.


Linda attended Porter Business College in Indianapolis, Indiana (1963) where she studied Business and Keypunch.
She also attended Don Williams School of Real Estate (1981) in Birmingham, Alabama.


Linda worked as a keypunch operator at both Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis (1963-1969) and St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Indiana (1970-1971). She went on to be a Computer Operator at Indiana Central University in Indianapolis, Indiana (1971-1980).


Linda relocated to Florida and worked at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. She worked in payroll and also the Engineering Library. She loved working in the Space Industry and enjoyed watching many launches over the years. When Space Center tours were open to Employees and their Families she would always invite Family to come along.


She enjoyed reading books and supported Talking Books for the Blind. She also volunteered and worked at the Library in Melbourne Beach, FL.


Linda loved the color purple. Clothes, shoes, purses, home decor, and on and on. She really loved purple.


Linda was a Cancer survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and was in remission for over 5 years.


During the last 3 years of her life she was not able to go and do things due to her COPD.
She so missed going out to lunch for celebrations with her friends; Judy, Gloria, and Karen. They were also her support team during her Cancer journey.

Although, she never had Children of her own, she loved her Nieces and Nephews with the same Mom heart.


She is survived by her Sisters, Emma Frey from West Lafayette, Indiana and Dolores Watt from Melbourne, Florida.
She is predeceased by her Sisters and Brothers, Geneva Hamilton, Margaret Gustafson, Delsia Allen, Mildred Brunton, Brothers; Fredrick Hamilton, and Leroy Hamilton.
