It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Leonito J. Subido, who passed on December 29, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family.  Leo was born in Pangasinan, Philippines on April 30, 1933. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in the Philippines, joined the U.S. Navy in 1957 and retired after serving thirty years, with tours at NAAS Ream Field, CA, NAS Sigonella, Sicily, Houston, TX, NAS Whiting Field, FL and Clark AB, Philippines.  Not ready to fully retire, Leo worked another 7 years at CNET, NAS Pensacola. He moved to Melbourne, FL in 1997 to be near his family.

Leo was a man of faith and was always the calm in the storm.  He intuitively knew what to say to people to put them at ease and used his keen sense of humor to fill the room with laughter.  Leo was always working on a project – he enjoyed building things in his workshop and taking special care of his garden. What he loved most though, were his family and friends, and spent most of his time with them, talking, dancing, playing mahjong and tennis.  Leo was preceded in death by his first wife, Corazon.  He is survived by his wife, Feliciana; his children, Ed, Kalina and Susan; his stepchildren, Melinda, Maureen and J.R.; his grandchildren, Justin, Kieran, Koby, Alani, Hannah, Kija, Mae, Giselle and Nicole; and great-grandchild, Olivia.

A vigil service will be held on January 4, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Ave., Melbourne, FL 32935. A funeral mass will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32935. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the American Heart Association.
