IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry
Lyda
January 9, 1956 – August 19, 2025
Larry Lyda, 69, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. Born on January 9, 1956, in Miami, Florida, Larry lived a life marked by hard work, deep loyalty, and a love for all things mechanical.
He is survived by his loving partner, Marie Donnelly; his daughters Jenny Potter (husband Dustin) and Melissa Jarman (husband David), his son Brian Lyda (wife Kayla), and his beloved grandchildren: Kamri, Sophia, Lyla, Lilly, Jack, Mia, Micaiah, and Sawyer. He is also survived by his brothers Al and Jon (wife Sue). Larry was preceded in death by his father Harold, mother Beverly, and his son Zach.
Larry spent his career working with his hands, first as an auto mechanic and most recently as a dedicated bus mechanic for Brevard County Schools. Whether under the hood of a classic car or fine-tuning a school bus, Larry took pride in doing the job right.
A true enthusiast, Larry loved old cars, riding his Harley, and tackling any DIY project that came his way. Always fixing, building, or learning something new, his latest passion was laser etching—just another way he put his creativity and craftsmanship to use.
Above all, Larry was a proud patriot who loved his country and stood firmly by his values. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and the way he was always ready to lend a hand.
A memorial service will be held to honor Larry's life on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Fellowship Church, 2820 Business Center Blvd, Melbourne, FL. All who knew and loved him are welcome.
