Obituary

On May 9, 1940 Kenneth Arthur Linick was born to Herman and Lemma Ann Paul Linick, in Detroit, Michigan. In 1958, Ken graduated high school in North Ridgeville, Ohio. He then began service in the US Navy, where he trained in munitions fire control and served four years in the Pacific on the carrier Ticonderoga. He began his civilian career as a systems programmer. He advanced to manager, senior planner, and communications networks specialist. He and his first wife Suzanne, had three sons Aaron (Lauren) Dirk, and Trent (Kara). Later, with his second wife, Frances, he accepted an early retirement package. They had begun investing in single family homes. They bought distressed homes, repaired them, and rented them, providing families with comfortable places to live. Later, they traveled extensively throughout Latin America, Europe and China.

Ken's hobbies included snow skiing, golf, photography, woodworking, electronics, and magic. He also enjoyed and supported Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland International Film Festival, and Great Lakes Theater.
Ken passed peacefully April 20 in hospice care at William Child's House.
He is survived by his three sons, his wife, his brother Charles and sisters Nancy Henceroth and Leann Rhea; as well by his first wife, his grandchildren Jacob, Zachary, Christopher, Jillian, Naomi and Noah, his nieces Stephanie, Courtney, Abigail, Diana and Emily, and by his nephew, Ben. His parents and older brother, Douglas, had passed earlier.
Family and friends remember Ken as thoughtful, intelligent, helpful, neighborly and kind. Many still would like to know how he pulled off those magic tricks.

Anyone can send the family a message or share a story at Ken's memorial page located at www.davisseawinds.com . Ken's ashes will be buried at sea from aboard a Navy vessel based at the Jacksonville Naval Station.
