Obituary

Kathleen Ann Barry, 89, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Holmes Regional Hospital.  To all who loved her she was known as "Kay".  Born in Fall River, Massachusetts to Thomas and Ann Alty.

Kay was a passionate woman who enjoyed her life.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University.  When she graduated from college she worked in accounting for an auto dealership.  In 1949 she married her husband Edward and decided to stay home with her growing family.  She was very athletic and stayed active her entire life.  She loved the ocean and swimming.  She also enjoyed playing golf and tennis, playing bridge, and ballroom dancing with Edward.  In her spare time she was also an avid reader.

Kathleen was extremely loving and proud of her five children: Steven Barry and his wife Cheryl of Melbourne, FL, David Barry of Melbourne, FL, Joyce Barry of Fredericksburg, VA, Kathleen Barry of Orlando, FL, and Elizabeth Barry of Palm Bay, FL.  Her six grandchildren Ashley Battles and her husband Matt, Jennifer Isnardi and her husband Dominic, Jessica Carr and her husband Matt, Brooke Barry, Bridgette Barry, and Patrick Barry and his wife Johanna survive her.  She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Kay was the oldest of four children.  Her two brothers Thomas and David have gone to be with the Lord.  She is survived by her sister Helen and her husband Bob Ivatts, her nephews: Bobbie Ivatts, Tim Ivatts, Scott Ivatts, Paul Ivatts, Tom Alty, David Alty and Brian Alty and her nieces: Linda Smart, Maribeth Alty, Therese Hastry, Paulette Alty and Cheryl Alty.  She is also survived by Claire LaJoie Alty, Patricia Alty, and Sandy Alty as well as many other extended family and friends.

The funeral mass for Kathleen will be on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11 am at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock Street, NE, Palm Bay, Florida 32905.  The interment will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1, Mims, FL 32754.
