Barefoot Bay
Kathy Wilson, 64, died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 22, 2014. She was born March 25, 1949 on Nantucket Island, MA. Kathy was the daughter of the late Horace C. and Catherine (Kehlenbeck) Wilson. She moved to Eau Gallie, FL with her family in 1956 and graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 1967. She lived in the Johnston County, NC area for most of her adult life. Kathy enjoyed sharing her life with close friends. She moved to Barefoot Bay, FL this past year to be closer to family. Kathy was a free spirit who loved country living with her horses and critters. Her interests were photography, woodworking, bead work and reading. Her passion was riding. As a teenager, Kathy completed an invitational three day 100 mile ride through the Ocala National Forest on her first horse, Chief. Kathy's greatest joy was her horse of 25 years, Red Zinger (Zingy), with whom she shared a special bond. She is survived by her brothers, Donald Wilson (Dottye) of Orlando, FL and Thomas Wilson (Andrea) of Merritt Island, FL; sister, Agnes Wilson of Melbourne, FL; nephew, Charles Wilson (Melissa); great nephews, Alexander, Ethan and Liam of Peachtree City, GA; and niece, Rebecca Wilson of Oviedo, FL; devoted Jack Russell Terrier's Jack and Zoe; and her kitty, Tanganilla. There will be a private graveside memorial service at a later date. A contribution may be made in her memory to your local Humane Society.
