June Kathleen Minter (nee Crossin), of Palm Bay, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 80.
June is survived by her husband, Bernard Minter; children Keith and wife Susan of Stillwater, NJ; Glenn and Special Friend Leslie of Hillsborough, NJ; and Allison of Palm Bay, FL and Allison's friend Anne; four grandchildren Lindsay, Dylan, Natalie, and Keegan; sister Alyce Reno; and brother Daniel Crossin. She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Mary, and brother Philip.
June was born to parents Daniel and Mary Crossin on June 27, 1935 in Bronx, NY. She grew up as the eldest of four and attended Bogota High School and was on the Junior Jersey Jolters Roller Derby Team. On October 14, 1954, she married Bernard Minter. The couple eventually settled in the Rock Ridge Lake section of Denville, NJ where they raised their three children and enjoyed the company of many good friends and neighbors. In 1986, June and Bernard moved to Palm Bay, FL. She was employed part-time at Mervin's and Belk Department stores, and later volunteered at the West Melbourne Library. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching classic movies, collected plates from around the world, and loved to watch sports on tv. Her dog Nova was also very special to her.
Her family and friends will always remember June as an easy going person with a positive attitude, as well as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
A memorial service will be held at Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne Fl on Saturday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. The family is grateful for the many calls and expressions of love and condolences. Memorial donations can be made in June's name to the Humane Society.
