At a young age, Roger worked diligently in his father's import and export business. He would move on from the family business and become a skilled laborer in several trades and a heavy machine operator. He together with the love of his life, Lydia Cherylus, raised a beautiful family. Roger hoped for a better life for his family and had aspirations of moving to America.
