Johnnie Smith Poe, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in Melbourne, FL. She was born on August 18, 1926 in Braselton, GA to the late John F. and Dora M. Hanes-Smith. Johnnie married the love of her life, Charles E. Poe and together they raised three children. She was the beloved matriarch of her family and extremely supportive to her husband's military career. She has been a resident of Eau Gallie, FL since 1959 coming from Hicksville, Long Island, NY. Johnnie was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Bow Gardens Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. She leaves wonderful memories to be cherished by her children, Charles B. (Kathryn), Sandra L. and Douglas M. Poe; granddaughter, Lora; nieces and 1 nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, MSgt. Charles E. Poe ARMY (Ret.) in 2005. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, November 18th at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Melbourne following with interment at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne.
