Lt. Col John Woodward, age 100, passed away on February 3, 2017. He was born in Vienna, Ga. John is survived by his wife Margaret, son-in-law, William McGarrity, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
John graduated from Presbyterian College and was commissioned 2nd Lt. in the infantry. He was later transferred to Army Air Corp He served 3 ½ years in the South Pacific during WW II. He later did graduate studies at the University of Georgia and the University of Delaware.
John moved to Melbourne in 1958 to work at Patrick Air Force Base.
Services will be held at St. Paul's Methodist Church on March 4, 2017 at 11 AM.
