Obituary

John Lee Stellner, 78, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Viera, FL. He was born January 26, 1933, in Webster, SD to Herbert M. Stellner and Maude Lee Stellner. He was reared and educated in the Midwest receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, and was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Hospital Administration from Northwestern University, Chicago, IL. John was an accomplished pianist and sang in church choirs wherever he lived and worked, including the famous St. Olaf College Choirs, as well as community choruses, most recently the Brevard Community Chorus in Melbourne, FL. His life work, which was world-wide, was in Hospital Administration and associated medical fields. After retirement he enjoyed working at Port Canaveral on the pier staff of Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. John was a life-long serious and active Christian. Raised in the Lutheran tradition of his family, he has for the last 16 years been a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Suntree and has served in the choir and on the Vestry, being appointed to two terms as Senior Warden of the parish. He is survived by his brother, Herbert M. Stellner of Kasson, MN; two nephews, Herbert III and Winston Stellner; a niece, Hilary Stellner Smith and their families. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in St. Paul's Anglican Church, 7200 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32940. Memorial donations may be made in John's name to St. Paul's Anglican Church Organ Fund. Condolences can be shared at davisseawinds.com.
