Reilly Jr.
October 4, 1968 – September 9, 2023
John Joseph Reilly Jr, 54, of Orlando Florida passed away peacefully on September 9, 2023 at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in Orlando.
John was born in Camden, New Jersey, October 4, 1968, to his late parents Ann Marie Casey Reilly and John "Jack" Reilly.
As a very young boy in Sicklerville, New Jersey, John introduced himself to his very first and life-long best friend Bill with "wanna be best friends?", which was met with a resounding "yes!".
At a young age, John developed a love for baseball, old movies, big band music and books (comic or otherwise). His love for the likes of the Philadelphia Phillies, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Frank Sinatra, and Captain America captured his heart and soul, providing a steady source of passion and strength throughout his life.
John moved from New Jersey to Fairfax, Virginia in 1985, with a brief stint in West Palm Beach, FL in 1975. He graduated from Paul Vi Catholic High School Fairfax in 1987. John first enrolled at George Mason University after high school before transferring to St. Joseph's University to major in Accounting. He was proud to be a Pi Kappa Phi, making life-long friends.
After graduating from St. Joe's in 1992, he moved to Melbourne, FL and began his career with Johnson Controls. The following summer (1993), he met Nicole Desjardins, a Canadian intern at Disney's Epcot Resort in the Norway Pavilion. Little did he know, he would marry her 23 years later (Oct 20, 2016).
John moved to Chicago in June of 1994 and worked for Catholic Charities as an internal auditor and then with Jones Lang LaSalle as an Asset Manager.
In June of 1996, he married Ericka Westgard in Plaza, North Dakota, amongst family and friends, presided by his late great-uncle Msgr. James Carr.
Jake (24) was born in May 1999 in Chicago. John then graduated from Notre Dame with an MBA degree in May 2001, moving with Ericka & Jake to Littleton, Colorado in June. Logan (21) was born in June 2002. John and his family moved back to Chicago in 2005, where he went back to work for Jones Lang LaSalle. Braedon (17) was born in July 2006 in Chicago.
John moved back to Florida in 2011 and pursued an education in Law Enforcement. He subsequently married Nicole in 2016 and they lived across central Florida where he eventually worked for Disney.
John is survived by his wife Nicole Desjardins, Orlando FL; Children James "Jake" Reilly, Chicago IL, Logan Reilly, Melbourne FL, Braedon Reilly, Melbourne FL; Parents-in-law Raymond Joseph Desjardins and Mary Ann Desjardins, Mississauga, Ontario; Sisters Kristin (Ed) Buckey, Rockledge FL; Michaela (Mitchell) Giles, Palm Bay FL; Sisters-in-law Collette (Phil Louchez) Desjardins, Mississauga Ontario, and Joelle (Charles) Johnston, Mississauga Ontario; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and extended family.
