It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of John Patrick Cullinan, aged 77 years, who passed August 6, 2015 at Health Center of Merritt Island. John was born in New York City in 1938, lived there until 1965 when he moved with his wife, Kathleen, and 3 small children to Melbourne Florida. He worked as a loyal employee of Life of Georgia for over 30 years, a job from which he would retire.

John enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with his family whether it was just at home or one of our yearly summer road trips to visit family in New York/New Jersey. He was an avid sports enthusiast watching any sporting event that could be found on TV. Horse racing was a particular favorite. He was always available to share a drink and a laugh with anyone who happened to stop by.

He was passionate about his Irish heritage, travelled to Ireland multiple times throughout his life and always kept in touch with relatives still residing there. He was an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, serving as a past State President as well as numerous local executive positions.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen and grandson, Ian Cullinan.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Cullinan of Melbourne; six children: Maureen (Cianchette), Kevin, John, Helen (King), Maggie (Slyter) and Mike; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
