Jimmie Gressett, a longtime resident of Indialantic, Florida passed away on February 5, 2014, suffering a long battle of treated Hepatitis C when he suddenly and peacefully died at the age of 57 while at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
Jimmie was born on August 31, 1956, in Houston, Texas, to James and Weda Gressett. Jimmie graduated high school and went on to serve in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge in the Army he became a Journeyman Electrician. He was an avid fisherman, loved his Texas Cowboys, life and all of his family and friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, James Gressett and brother-in-law Tim Toepler.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Patti Gressett, son Jimmie Gressett Jr., of Houston, Texas, daughter, Candice Gressett of Melbourne, Florida, his mother, Weda Evans Gressett , sister, Charlotte Gressett and sister Lisa Gressett, all from White Plains, New York; Father-In-Law, Marvin Toepler, Mother-In-Law, Elisabeth Toepler, of Viera, Florida, Brother-In-Law, Robert Toepler and Sister-In-Law, Margie Toepler of Rockledge, Florida, nephew Jason Toepler and his wife Marissa Toepler of Ft. Myers, Florida, nieces', Melissa Toepler of West Melbourne, Florida, Nicolette Gressett and Cheyenne Elliott of Mamaroneck, New York. A special mention to his best Buddy/ Cousins Larry and Paula Moceri of Melbourne Beach, Florida.
All of his family and friends loved Jimmie Gressett as he would never hesitate to give a helping hand even as he would often say "I'm tired" with his Texan accent. May he rest in peace until we meet again. We love you!
Cremation arrangements were entrusted by Davis Seawinds, Melbourne, Florida. A celebration of Life will be held at Life's Oasis Church, 1441 N. Harbor City Boulevard, Melbourne, Florida, on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.
