Jerry (Pat) Meyer, "gone from our sight", but not our hearts, passed away on Jan. 27, 2014, surrounded by his family. Pat was born March 13, 1937, In Charlton, Ill., to Charles E. Meyer and Eileen McVickar Meyer. The family moved to New Smyrna Beach, in the 1940's. Pat graduated from NSBHS in 1955, and from the U of Fla College of Pharmacy in 1961. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. Pat met his wife of 52 years, Martha Reece , while serving his internship in Ocala. The couple resided in Eau Gallie since 1961. Pat was a pharmacist for 50 years. He was partner of Sarno Fulmers, manager of JM Fields. He was employed in Shands Hospital in Gainesville; Cape Canaveral Hospital; and at Holmes Regional for 21 years, where his dedication to work and "tongue in cheek" sayings made him a favorite among his co-workers. Pat was a SCUBA diver, a fisherman, a hunter a carpenter and a fan of Gator football. Go Gators! Pat doted on his beloved sons and their wives, Patrick and Toni, and Scott and Stephanie, and was ever the proud grandpa to Brad Lee and Alexa Rae. Pat is survived by his wife, Martha; son Patrick M Meyer and his wife, Toni Dagly; son Scott B Meyer and his wife, Stephanie Kazoroski; grandson Scott Brad Lee Meyer; granddaughter Alexa Rae Meyer; brothers Ben Meyer and wife Carol; Mac Meyer and wife, Valerie; brothers-in-law Ted Reece and wife Brenda; and Roger Reece; 18 nieces and nephews and many good friends and neighbors. Pat chose cremation and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
