Jerry Clifton Lingle, "Linge", 81, was born September 22, 1936 in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, and departed this life on July 24, 2018, with his family by his side.  Jerry was survived by his loving wife Anne-Marie (Petie), two daughters, Leslie Cain, and Julie Carlisle, both of Lexington, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Amber Cain (White), James Ellis, Emily Carlisle, and Natalie Carlisle, two great grandchildren, Eleanor Beckham White and Margaret Barksdale White, and his only sibling, Mariella Scott of Oxford, Mississippi.  He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a true Renaissance man and lived an accomplished and full life. Jerry graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering in 1959. He then completed a masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin. After settling in Sacramento, California, Jerry then went on to become a medical doctor, graduating from University of California San Francisco Medical School in 1969.  Once Jerry had established his private medical practice in Brookhaven, Mississippi, his ambition led him to fulfilling the requirements of the American Plastics Surgery board in 1983 and eventually becoming a board certified hand specialist in 2003. Jerry was a pilot, a jazz pianist, a sailor, a gourmet cook, a golfer, and he loved his Kentucky Wildcats, Ole Miss Rebels and the New York Giants and was quite the storyteller. He was truly one of a kind and will be profoundly missed.
