Jerome "Jerry" Walter Klenck Jr. 56, of Melbourne, FL passed away on Wednesday November 4, 2015 after a courageous battle with brain cancer with his family by his side.
He was born to Jerome Sr. and Jessica Klenck on August 24, 1959 in Chicago, Ill. He graduated from Melbourne High School in 1977, enlisted the Army upon graduation and served 15 years through active service and later the Reserves. He was a helicopter Crew Chief stationed primarily in Germany. After his time in the military he returned to Melbourne and worked in the family business and became partners of the Craftmaster Auto Body Group. During his tenure with the family business he went to college and earned an AA degree.
He married Pamela Gail Smith on November 6, 2010 at Wesley United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Pam; step daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Allen; grandchildren, Kaleb and Kinlee; his parents, Jerome Sr. and Jessica Klenck and siblings, Mike (Michele), Mark (Karen), Susan (Chris) and many nieces and nephews.
He was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church serving as Executive Team Chair and later as Financial Committee Chair. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Puppets, Men's Club and Country Western Ministry where he volunteered his time as a sound technician.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Holmes Reginal Medical Center and the William Childs Hospice House. His cancer care, lead us to the following caring doctors: Dr. Richard Unger, Dr. Jonathan T. Paine, Dr. Lisa Duhaime, Dr. Anil A. Dhople, and Dr. Nelson Sang.
The family will honor his request for cremation. A celebration of his life will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church 2075 Meadowlane Avenue, West Melbourne, FL on Saturday November 14, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary.
Donations in his memory may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the Wesley United Methodist Church Memorial Garden.
