Dr. Jensy "Jay" A. Gutierrez, 88, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on April 15, 2023 with his family by his side.

Jay was born in Guanacaste, Costa Rica to Abel and Aida Gutierrez in July 1934. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1960. He practiced in Melbourne, FL for 50 years. He met his wife, Vicky, at his first chiropractic office in Miami when she came in as a new patient. They were married for 58 wonderful years.

Jay was a dedicated chiropractor with the gift of healing hands and spirit. He loved his work and his patients. He enjoyed learning new chiropractic techniques and attended seminars often. Outside of his professional career, he loved to learn new hobbies. He taught himself to build HAM radios, record players and even the organ he played music on. As an audiophile, he collected records of all music genres and loved to dance with Vicky. He took classes in photography and taught himself how to use the computer when it first became publicly available. He was always expanding his mind. Jay was known for being quiet and reserved, but had a wonderful dry sense of humor. He immensely enjoyed time with his family whether it was simply going to the cinema (which he loved) or long road trips to the mountains. He was a gentle soul, and a loving husband and father.

Jay is survived by his loving wife, Vicky and his four children, Carol Gutierrez, Kelly Lockamy, Laura (Walid) Costandi, Alan (Catherine) Gutierrez. His grandchildren: Neva Lockamy, Anna Lockamy, Dasan Costandi, Rebecca Zuhoski. His sister, Gilda Gutierrez and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Aida, his stepmother, Mireya, and his brothers Abel and Alexis Gutierrez.
