Jean Alice Taylor Chaffee of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on July 4, 2019 at the age of 97.  She was the beloved wife of the late Roscoe Pierce Chaffee.  Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Jean was a daughter of the late Charles Norwood Taylor and Alice Margaret Carter Taylor.

Jean was the mother of the late Stephen Pierce Chaffee of Melbourne, Florida, and is survived by his wife Maria Dole Chaffee and their children Stephanie Anne Chaffee and Thomas Alton Chaffee.  She is also survived by her daughter Margaret Jean Guerin and husband David, grandchildren Eric David Anderson and his wife Christine Skala Anderson, Brian Taylor Anderson and his wife Cathy Sharpe Anderson, Ivy Jean Rutledge, her husband Gerald Glenn Rutledge and beloved great-grandchildren Jasper Anderson Rutledge and Samuel Pierce Rutledge, all of North Carolina.

A family graveside service for Jean and Roscoe will take place in Bridgewater, Massachusetts at a later date.
