Jay D. Hewitt, 68, of Palm Bay, FL. formerly of Holley, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 6, 2023 with his wife of 24 years, Lynn Codori Hewitt, by his side.

Jay was born to the late DeMara Hewitt and Claire Hewitt on April 25, 1955 in Erie, PA.  He graduated from Holley High School in 1974.  He lived a short time in California and Alaska and came back to Holley.  He worked at Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, NY.  Retiring in 2005 to Palm Bay, FL.

Jay is survived by his wife, Lynn Codori Hewitt, daughter Tracy (Gurger) Lorek, son Mark Gurger (Kim Smith), grandchildren Ari Hewitt and Jay was "Poppy" to Aiden Lorek. Jay was the middle child of five. Joy (Hewitt) Kind passed May 26, 2022 in Denver CO.  Surviving siblings Gay (Hewitt) Klemme, Rochester, NY, Guy K. Hewitt, Brockport, NY, and Lee Hewitt of Spencerport, NY.  Plus several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jay was a man of few words.  Always kind and loving to all.  Children and animals loved his calm sweet voice.  Plus his sense of humor.   He had a love for his classic cars and his Harleys.
