Obituary

Jane Lynn Osterberg, age 59, was born in Kissimmee, Florida and with her family at her side passed on January 3, 2021 at the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida. She fought a long, steady, and courageous battle with cancer. Her Christian faith and family came first. Her family moved from Kissimmee to Orlando in August 1962.  Her home was in Melbourne, Florida. She attended and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1979. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music, and movies. She was chosen as a member to the State of Florida sight reading chorus and was elected best soprano for the Oak Ridge High School Chorus her senior year. She was active in the Oak Ridge Pioneers marching band and Contemporary Ensemble. Her favorite song was, "What a Wonderful World". She had the gifted skill of organization. She took medical retirement from Carr, Riggs, and Ingram CPAs and Advisors firm about a year after the merge of Cerow and Company for whom she had worked for several years as an Administrative Assistant.
She is survived by her son, Joshua Mondschein of Melbourne; daughter, Samantha Yops (Chris) and grandchildren, Natalie and Markus Yops of Satellite Beach; her parents, Pansy and Jerry Osterberg of Orlando; sister, Sonia Scheinholtz of Port St John; brother, Gerald Osterberg (Alison) of Apopka; two nieces, one nephew, three aunts, two uncles, many cousins, and her best friend since elementary school, Brenda Johnson Montanez.
Jane has chosen to donate her body to science with hopes of helping other cancer patients. Jane was all about family. There will be a Potluck Picnic/Remembrance gathering for Jane on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from eleven thirty to three in the afternoon at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Road, Belle Isle, Florida 32812. As your potluck item, please make one of your favorite recipes and provide a copy of the recipe as the family would like to make a cookbook in Jane's memory. If you are interested in receiving a copy, please provide your name and address on the back of the copy of the recipe. Children are welcome to come. Everyone must wear a mask. There will be water, coffee, sweet and unsweet ice tea to drink. Meat will be provided. Please call 407-860-8916 and leave a message with your name and how many in your family will attend. Seating will be limited so bring your lawn chair. At Jane's request, please wear comfortable clothing and the color of your choice but please no black.. Her favorite color was purple. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make donations in her memory to Hospice of Health First, 1131 W New Haven Ave #4055, West Melbourne FL 32904. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Health First and William Childs Hospice House for their compassionate care which was done so lovingly and most especially Dr Dana, Gina, Marisa, and Dr Dana's staff, as well as, Dr Ruiz the Director of William Childs Hospice House and his staff of nurses, CNAs, housekeeping, and receptionists. Your care was excellent. Thank you and may God continue to bless each of you.
