James C. Souther, 74, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday May 24, 2012, at home surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Old Fort, N.C.
After serving in the Air Force, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale and then to Melbourne in 1981, where he worked at Eau Gallie Enterprise as a screen room installer. He was very active in the Ft. Lauderdale little league and a life-long fan of the Miami Dolphins and Hurricanes. He enjoyed sports, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sally Souther; son MSgt (Ret) James A. (Selda) Souther; daughter Carrie Lynn (Kenny) Johnson; Brother Donnie (Barbara) Souther of S. Carolina. grandchildren; Kenny, James C. III, Julia, and many other relatives. His keen sense of humor and wit will be missed by many.
By Jim's request there will a celebration of his life for family and friends on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 2 pm at his residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Harvest food Bank or Ascension Catholic Thrift store.
