James Gregory Smith,75, of Palm Bay, Florida took the Highway to Heaven on Sunday May 28, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Providence, RI on September 13, 1947 to the late Althea Nunes and the late James A. Smith. He graduated from Mt. Herman School and received his Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University.

He was married to Lorraine Tomlinson Smith. After his military service they lived in Bristol, RI then settled in Little Compton, RI to raise their family. They relocated to Palm Coast, FL and retired to Palm Bay, FL.

Gregg was a financial analyst, a motorcycle salesman and retired as an admissions counselor at a motorcycle trade school. His enthusiasm in motorcycling had him participate in five Iron Butt Rallies. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Melbourne.

Gregg is survived by Lorraine, his wife of 53 years; daughter: Tara (Chad) Buck their sons Cooper and Spencer; son Daniel (Lindsey) Smith their children Quinn and Riker; and his brother Terrence P. (Fran) Smith and their daughters Gillian and Laura. He is also survived and loved by many other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 110 E New Haven Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901.
