James "Jim" Putira from Palm Bay, FL, 60, passed away in the early hours of June 12th, 2023 at St. Francis Hospice Center from a hard fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  Jim graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and has been a Quality Engineer in Melbourne, FL for the past 14 years working for defense contractors, DRS, Extant, SMTC and most recently L3Harris.

Jim was born in Manchester, CT and was the son of James and Rosemary Putira.  He is survived by his son, Sean Putira (Christina) and his daughter, Jennifer Simmons (Michael) and his four grandchildren, Larrell, Hazel, Brooklyn and Sierra.  He is also survived by his sister, Theresa Ham and his brother, Gregory Putira (Donna) and nieces and nephew.

Jim had a passion for sports and was very involved in coaching and umpiring in his earlier years.  Jim coached both Little League and Softball for his children and after they stopped playing, he continued to umpire for Little League.  Jim would love to try and sneak away to a ball game while he was on travel to experience as many ballparks as possible.  It was a goal of his to try and see as many iconic ball parks before his passing.

Jim also loved to play golf and would try to get out on the course as much as possible.  Even toward the end of life, although not strong enough to play, he rode along with a very good friend just so he could be at his happy place.

The Memorial Service will be held on June 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Davis Seawinds, 560 Montreal Ave, Melbourne, FL.
