Obituary

JAMES JOSEPH PERRY

November 27, 1939 – August 17, 2026

James “Jim” Perry, 86, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on August 17, 2026. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 60 years, Louise (Cullinan) Perry; loving father to daughter Joan and her husband Nicholas Regina, son Dean and his wife Britt and their daughters Peyton and Taylor, and son Mark and his wife Andrea.

Born in Darby, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Kathryn (Merchant) Perry, Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, on active duty from 1961 to 1965 and in the Air Force Reserve until 1967.

After serving his country, Jim married, raised his family, and built his construction business in Medford, New Jersey. A talented craftsman and problem-solver, Jim was happiest working with his hands. Whether building, woodworking, repairing, or creating something for his family, he approached every project with meticulous attention to detail and made sure everything fit exactly. He also served on the Medford Township Zoning Board, was active in the South Jersey Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus through his parish church.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Jim is survived by beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister Alice; his namesake nephew, James Conley, and his niece Candice Conley.

Jim chose to donate his brain for dementia research, hoping this final gift might help advance the understanding of these difficult diseases and contribute to better treatments for others.

Jim will be cremated and later interred with military honors at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Jim’s honor to either of the following organizations:
