James Fred Oliphant, 85 of 618 Waveside Drive passed away Thursday January 25, 2018. He was the husband of Jeannie Deans Oliphant for nineteen years and was born February 28, 1932 in Cumberland County, NC to the late John Edward and Mattie Skipper Oliphant. James was an avid fisherman and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters: Crystal Oliphant of Melbourne, Judy Gray of Fayetteville, Elizabeth Timothy of Fayetteville and Annette Cahall of WA, sons: James Oliphant, Jr. of Fayetteville, Andy Oliphant of Fayetteville and Dion Oliphant of Fayetteville, brother Stacy Oliphant of Rocky Mount, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lola Belle Paul and brothers Frank Oliphant, Lacy Oliphant and Otis Oliphant and daughter Brenda Hiller.
