James Phillip Nierman, 82 of Melbourne, FL died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay. Mr. Nierman was a resident of Melbourne since 1995. Prior to retirement he was the superintendent at Ft. Wayne International Harvester Co. for 33 years. James was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the Indiana National Guard, as well as a master mason at the Indiana Freemasons Lodge 195, Roanoke. His hobbies included fine woodworking, hunting, fishing, golfing and boating. He held a private pilot's license and was a member of the IRKS Club, building and flying radio-controlled planes.

James is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma C. (Welbaum) Nierman, son Kerry Nierman of NJ, two daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Simon of TN and Jill (John) Stuart of FL and six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held in Melbourne, FL at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home. Interment will follow at a later date at Chattanooga National Cemetery in TN.
