James F. Miranda, age 84, passed away on August 21, 2015 in Providence, RI surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, RI on August 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph and Virginia Miranda.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothea (DeCosta) Miranda, a lifelong resident of East Providence, RI and their three children; Donna Silvernail, Kenneth Miranda and Lori Conti. His Surviving siblings are Joseph and Edward Miranda.

Mr. Miranda served as a FA Gunner in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had various occupations predominantly working as an Oriental rug specialist. He was an active member of Faith Christian Center where he faithfully served as an usher.

He loved spending time with his family and his most enjoyable moments were spent with his cherished grandchildren, Christy & Elijah Silvernail, Kyle & Craig Miranda, Amanda, Joseph, Avyana & Isaiah Conti and the late Ashley Silvernail.

A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 10:00AM at Faith Christian Center, 95 Sagamore Road, Seekonk, MA 02771. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be sent to: Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
