James Byron Mimbs, 76, of Melbourne, passed away Thursday morning, November 24, 2011.
Born December 27, 1934 in Lake Wales, he was the son of the late Elmer and Evelyn Mimbs and the brother of Leon (deceased), Donald, Glenn, and Elmer,Jr. (Billy). He was predeceased by a daughter, Elaine. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Stevens Mimbs; his son and daughter-in-law Steven and Jill Mimbs of Melbourne; his daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Kenneth Powers of Athens, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Kyle and Kasey Mimbs and Amy Line and Jenna Powers.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Melbourne at 2 PM on Sunday, November 27th and the Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM with
Dr.Scott Wilson, Dr. David Hasker, and the church's music ministry members as leaders.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Melbourne, Hospice First or the Leukemia Foundation.
