James A. Krause, age 74, of Melbourne Beach, Florida, died Thursday January 3, 2019. Jim was born to the late Lloyd Krause and Dorothy Rodgers on 07/21/1944 in Peckville, Pa.  Jim enlisted in the Army after high school and served until January, 1965. He then went to school on the GI bill and became a flight instructor.  He was a flight instructor for many years and also worked at General Motors, Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department as a dispatcher and PQ Corporation.  He married Mary Jo Krause on 04/19/69.  They lived in Piper Kansas then relocated to Melbourne Beach, Florida.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Krause, his son David Krause, daughter in law Michelle and granddaughters Maddison and Julia; his daughter, Lisa Rees, son in law Brian and granddaughters Briele and Bailey; step brother, Eric Krause his wife Celeste and daughter Melissa; sister-in-law Helen Caples and nieces DeDe, Tina, Annie and Donna; one aunt, Aunt Paula Ruby and cousins. Also surviving are the families of his deceased brother Dennis wife Anne and children Daniel, Lydia and Stephen and his deceased sister Candice's husband Jack and children, Chris and Shelley.

He is preceded in death by his son James Lloyd Krause; his father Lloyd Krause, mother Dorothy Rodgers, sister Candice Burcin and brother Dennis Krause.

Jim was a great family man and a loving father and grandfather. He married Mary Jo in 1969 and the couple had three children together, including James Lloyd Krause, who died in infancy. Jim loved sailing, flying, reading, reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond, KU basketball, warm Florida weather and beaches, woodworking, time with family and enjoying life in general.  He also liked tormenting everyone on Facebook with his political opinions.  He always said "Dance like nobody's watching" and told his granddaughters "Shoot to the moon" and he loved to send his grandchildren letters with a picture and money in them for their piggy banks.
