Jim Kennedy of West Melbourne passed away on February 9th, 2013. He was born in Erie Pennsylvania, to the late Richard Kennedy and Sophie Goellner. He is as much a mystery in death as he was in life. Jim believed in Unit, Corps, God and Country. A favorite quote of Jim's was from George Orwell, "We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." -Oorah! He is survived by his wife, best friend, and faithful Indian companion, Judy Ezzell Kennedy to whom he was completely devoted; sons; James II, Andre (Lisa) Kennedy; Larry and David Mullen, Scott and Steven Kessel; daughters, Debbie Sue, Christine and Mary Margaret; sister, Kathleen Kennedy, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 nephews and 1 niece. He was predeceased by his sister, Audrey McLaughlin, a son, Jeffery Joseph, and grand-niece, Michele (Shelly) Sutto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jim to: the Marine Corps Toys for Tots or the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation. No calling hours are scheduled and services will be held privately, arrangements by Davis Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory.
