James Lynn Heidel, 61, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in Melbourne, FL. Born in Ames, IA on September 13th, 1952 and was the beloved son of the late Robert and Helen Atchison- Heidel. Jim was an undergraduate of University of Florida and received a Master's Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. After securing his education, Jim permanently became a resident of Brevard County in 1982 coming from TX. For the majority of his career, he worked for Northrop Grumman as a software engineer and following his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at Ascension Catholic Church. Some of his many hobbies included: photography, studying the history of trains, genealogy and being an avid "Gator's Fan".

Jim will be remembered for being a sincere and honest gentleman. He adored his family and will be forever in our hearts.

He leaves memories to be cherished by his children, Jamie Doyle (Russ), Jason and Jacob Heidel; sisters, Marcia Courson (John) and Janice Heidel; step-father, James Brasfield and 1 grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30p.m. on Wednesday, May 7th at Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne.
