IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Yuill
Harris
July 10, 1935 – August 16, 2022
James Yuill Harris was born on July 10, 1935 in Needham, Mass to Charles W. And Mary A. Harris. He had three brothers Charles, Robert and Albert and one sister Dorothy (Midge).
He was educated in Needham public schools. In 1952, James enlisted in the USMC. He met his future wife Margaret while on leave. They married on August 18, 1956. After the birth of their 3 children, they moved to Miami, FL. Where Jim took a job with Eastern Elevator. They moved to Satellite Beach, FL two years later. Jim was working at Cape Kennedy for Eastern Elevator. He later had an Elevator repair company, owned a Gulf Station and other businesses. He eventually went to work for PAFB as a Civil Service Employee. After he retired, they built a home in Melbourne Florida.
He was mechanically inclined and self taught. Even if he couldn't afford the right parts, he could fix just about anything and make it work. He was a fun loving husband and dad. We had a lot of adventures on boating and camping weekends, dirt biking and such.
He is pre-deceased by his wife of 58 1/2 years, Margaret L. (McCabe) Harris. He is survived by his children Karin (Jim) Kendust, Tim (Rhyna) Harris, Robyn (Andy) Smith. His grandchildren, Jennifer Kendust, Erik Kendust (Alyson), Amber Harris, Brannon Wiltse (Autumn), Jason Wiltse, (Dilene), Danielle Smith Nader (Howard), David Smith (Kathleen), 11 great grandchildren, and his best buddy Lucky.
He left us to go to his eternal home on August 16, 2022 after a short illness. Old age gentled his spirit, and he will be very missed.
Graveside Service with Military honors will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, August 22, 2022, Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Fl. We ask for your prayers for our family.
If you feel the need to offer expressions of sympathy, donations to your favorite charity in his name would be appreciated
