Jim Armstrong, 84, of West Melbourne passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on November 13, 2025, after a long illness.

He was born in Ogdensburg, NY to Elizabeth (Phillips) and Harold Armstrong. He lived most of his life in Central New York and moved to Palm Bay Florida in 2005.

He is survived by Wife: Sandra (Glose) Armstrong Children: Matthew (Adrienne) Armstrong, Kirk (Sylvia) Dattler, Christopher (Keri) Armstrong Grandchildren: Conner Brown, Brooklynn, Aubrey, Nathan and Cameron Armstrong Pre-deceased by grandson Zachary Dattler Siblings: John Armstrong, Bartlett, NY and Jerry Armstrong, Piedmont, SC.

He studied Industrial Arts at New Mexico State, and worked as a trim carpenter and cabinet maker all of his life. He concurrently worked as a paramedic and was a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years. He ended his fire service as Chairman for the Board of Commissioners for Ringgold Fire Department in Pulaski, NY. After moving to Florida, he developed interest in HAM radio and was a member of PCARS. Call sign KI4RBY.

He loved his family deeply and had many fun years camping and travelling with his grandchildren. His other interests included fishing, woodworking, maple syrup making, apple cider making, and watching college sports. He had a small farm in Pulaski, NY for many years.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19th at 10am followed by a Memorial Service to begin at 11am at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home located at 560 Montreal Ave, Melbourne, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Health First Hospice.
