Jacob Dominick Johnson, 21, Passed away on April 25th, 2024 in Oceanside, California.
He was born on August 5th, 2002 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida to Russell W. Johnson and Jenette J. Bowman. Jacob was raised by his grandmother, Shirley D. Rentz and her second husband, Daniel Rentz. His grandfather, Arthur D. Shealey also helped raise him.
Jacob graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 2020 where he excelled both in baseball and bowling.
Jacob was a Marine Corporal stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. His military occupation was motor transport mechanic/operator. He enlisted on April 26th, 2021 and served for three years.
He enjoyed driving cars, playing video games, riding four wheelers, and taking pictures. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his best friend Charles, hanging out, watching movies and videos on YouTube.
Jacob is survived by his mother, Jenette Bowman; father, Russell W. Johnson; partner in life, Jaidyn Portlock; maternal grandmother, Shirley Rentz (Daniel Rentz – deceased); paternal grandmother, Victoria M. Pranzo; maternal grandfather, Arthur D. Shealey; brothers, Joshua Smith and Jonah Bowman; sisters, Jewel Bowman and Jeanna Bowman; aunts, Jennifer Shealey, Holly Kelly, and Michele Pearson; uncle, Anthony Pranzo; cousin, Kayla M. Pearson; and his best friend who was more like a brother, Charles Arthur Moser. Jacob is also survived by a close family friend, Debbie Dittmer, who contributed to his love and excellence in bowling.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 from 1pm to 6pm at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32935.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at 11am at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home. A brief visitation will be held from 10:30am to the time of the service.
Military honors and the committal service will take place on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at 1:30pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754.
