J Miles Taggart of Vero Beach died Wednesday, March 4 th, with her family by her side. She was born on July 27 1932, in Washington, D.C., the only child of Miles Miller and Gertrude Volland Miller. She grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and spent every summer at the family cottage in North Beach on the Chesapeake Bay. She graduated from Sidwell Friends High School and attended the University of Maryland. She married John Kelly Taggart on March 25, 1951, in Denver, Colorado, where he was stationed in the Air Force. They lived briefly in Tampa, Florida, and then returned to Maryland where they raised five children. Together they owned and operated a popular nightclub named Sarano's. They had homes in the Virgin Islands and in Florida, first Ft. Pierce, then Vero Beach, and finally Malabar. She is survived by John Kelly Taggart Sr., her husband, of 62 years and their five children and ten grandchildren: John Kelly Taggart Jr. of Fredrick, Maryland; Kenneth Miles Taggart, his wife Maria Elaina: their children Ethan Taggart and Andrea Taggart all of Malabar; Robert Paul Taggart of Houston, Texas, his children: Rebecca Taggart, John Taggart, and Ashley Taggart of Orlando; William Steven Taggart of Arlington, Virginia, his children: Samantha Taggart of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Madison Taggart of Arlington; and Barbara Ann Taggart Donaldson of Ft Pierce, her husband Don, and their children: Don Donaldson III of Tampa, Katherine Donaldson of Jacksonville, and Cristin Kelly Donaldson of Ft Pierce.
Memorial Mass will be held on March 10th, 2015, at 3:00 PM. Services will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church in Micco, Florida.
