I. G. "Bud/Budgie" Steele

Budgie Steele, 73, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. He was born January 3, 1939, in Manchester, KY to the late Gilbert and Katherine (Caudill) Steele.

He moved to Melbourne, FL in 1961, but always loved Manchester, KY and considered it home. His greatest loves were his family and the Kentucky Wildcats. He worked in the interior construction business and owned his own business, Acoustical Ceiling. He was the youngest of 7 children and the only son.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Garrison Steele; son, Alonzo Edward Steele with daughter, Erin(Matthew) and grandson Jonathan; son, Theodore "Ted" Gilbert Steele; daughter, Teresa Steele Sheppard(Curt) with daughter, Stephanie, son, Brent (Sheri) and granddaughter, Aubree, Budgie's newest great-granddaughter, 2 ½ months old, who he nicknamed "Little Missy". He is also survived by his only living sister, Mallie Linda Taylor; brother-in-law, Blaine Hensley; Janet's brothers, Ted, Charles(Kathy), and Jack Garrison, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Stella, Mae, Faye, Mickey, and Alene.

A celebration of Budgie's life will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2:00 at the County Line (corner of 192 and I-95).
