Iris G. Zayas, 87, departed this life peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2014 at her home comforted by her beloved family. She leaves many beautiful memories to be cherished by her devoted husband, Victor; daughter, Joann Willer (Chris); sisters, Anna Stillo (Frank), Norma D'Agostino, Conchita Gregory and Olga Garcia (Tito); grandchildren, Victoria Sodestrom, Gabrielle Watson and George Watson. Iris was born in Villalba, Puerto Rico on April 7, 1927 to the late Teodoro Gregory and Mercedes Colon. Throughout her life she enjoyed being active outdoors, some of her favorite past times would include: walking on the beach, fishing and being with her loved ones. Iris always looked forward to getting together with the "girls" for luncheons and BINGO. She was also a fabulous seamstress that appreciated making garments for her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as the matriarch of her family that blessed us with an infinite amount of love. Her joyful spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23rd at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne with a service to follow at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Iris to: VITAS Hospice, 4450 W Eau Gallie Blvd #250, Melbourne, FL 32934
