Howell Porter "H.P." Ducker, 73, of Melbourne, Florida died on November 7, 2015. H. P. was named after his grandmothers Esther Howell and Eva Porter but his family called him Buddy. He was born in March of 1942 and he was the eldest son of the late Claire Orlando Ducker, Sr and Virginia Kenly Ducker.

H. P. is survived by three daughters, Carrie Ducker, Ginger Otto, and Brenda Ducker; three sons-in-law, Dwight Griswold, Chris Otto and Jerry Jonas; three grandsons, Ross, Reid and Conrad Otto; three siblings, Gail Jones, Steve Ducker and Wendy Mare; step-mother, Joan Ducker; and companion, Karen Pedraza. H. P. was preceded in death by his parents and brother, C. O. Ducker, Jr.

H. P. was a veteran of Korea. He was a Specialist Four in an infantry unit supporting the Third Missile Command. During his military service, he was a member of "The Old Guard" at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

H.P. was a Lieutenant for Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department in Virginia. He served at Jefferson Station 18 in Falls Church, Penn Daw Station 11 in Alexandria and Lorton Station 19. H. P. was assigned to Fairfax County's first ladder truck. At Lorton Station 19, H. P. worked with his second cousin John Payne Porter, Jr., who was his superior officer. H. P.'s brother, C. O. Ducker, Jr. was a Master Technician for over 30 years with Fairfax County.

In 1966 Buddy, which is what H. P.'s friends called him, and his friends founded the first volunteer rescue squad in Manassas, Va. The rescue squad is called the Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad, Company 1.

H. P. was an entrepreneur. H. P. and his business partner Richard Triana opened a barbershop called For Men Only Barber Shop in Palm Bay. H. P. was a barber for over 20 years.

H. P. was a member of the American Legion Post 81 in Melbourne, the American Legion Riders Chapter 81, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4249 in Palm Bay, and the VFW Post 8191 in Palm Bay. A celebration of life will be held in December 2015.
