Obituary for Henry Bishop Fisher Jr (Hank)
Henry Bishop Fisher Jr (Hank), age 89, of Melbourne, FL, passed away on January 19, 2026, in Melbourne, FL. Born in Montgomery, AL to Henry and Louise Fisher on June 21, 1936, Hank attended school in Okinawa and Wisconsin and married Sharon Lee Fisher in Lincoln, NE on August 4, 1961. He graduated from West Point and dedicated 25 years of service to the U.S. Air Force, where he served his nation with honor retiring as a Colonel. As a Missile Launch Officer, Engineer and Program Manager, Hank received multiple awards for his dedication and leadership to include the Legion of Merit and multiple Meritorious Service Medals. He received a master's degree from Auburn University. After retiring from the military, he joined the United Space Alliance and supported the NASA Space Shuttle Operations for another 23 years.
Hank was past president of the Space Coast Arabian Horse Club. He enjoyed his horses and outdoor work. Whether he was tinkering in the barn or fixing a stubborn fence, he always found a creative solution, often using whatever materials were at hand.
He is preceded in death by his father Henry, mother Louise, and brother Walter. Hank is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Lee Fisher, his children Lisa J. Huff, James A. Fisher (Cathy), and John A. Fisher (Beth), his brother David Fisher, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
