Harvey Hershel Stigall, Sr., age 70, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Born in Beckley, WV, and raised in Somerset, KY, he was the second of nine children of Netty and Alex Stigall.
Harvey and his loving wife, Lilia, moved to Brevard County in 1978 from Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. He retired after 26 ½ years from the United States Air Force with the rank of master sergeant. Harvey went on to work for Computer Sciences Raytheon for 19 years before retiring for good. He was a member of the American Legion, The VFW and was also a Shriner and a Free Mason.
Always ready with a smile, a laugh and a hug, Harvey never missed the opportunity to make a new friend or to help someone in need. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Lilia; his five children, Harvey Stigall, Jr., Tony Stigall and his wife, Jennifer; Sidney Stigall; Rodney Stigall and his wife, Lisa; and Leah Stigall; his treasured grandchildren, Courtney, Camden, Evan, Grant, Nathan, Sadie, and Quinn; his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14th from 6-8 pm at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Road, Melbourne. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15th at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Melbourne, 3301 Dairy Road, Melbourne. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South U.S. Highway 1, Rockledge.
