Gwyn (aka Guy) Trefor Thomas 97 years of age of Grant, Florida, USA passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 10:30 in the evening. Tref was born September 10, 1928, in Birmingham, England to Gladys Lawson Thomas and Herbert Thomas. He prefers to be called Trevor or Tref. 

Tref completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron in Ohio. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Florida State University through a scholarship program while employed at NASA. He was employed as a Lead Engineer at NASA for 21 years between 1960 to 1981. After his retirement from NASA, Tref worked as a Tax Preparer until age 77. 

He enjoyed meeting new friends, participating in ballroom dancing, traveling - especially going on a cruise, and doing different projects in his property in Grant. When not doing outdoor activities, Tref enjoyed relaxing at home watching tv and old movies mostly sci-fi and action movies. His favorite music is Tranquility by Phil Coulter. Tref enjoyed attending Zumba class at the Grant Community Center where his wife is attending the class. He became very fond of everyone in the class as he received lots of love from the group. Lisa, the Zumba Class Teacher, became a very good friend of his. 

Tref is survived by his loving wife Maria Victoria, his daughter Heather from his first wife Norma, a grandson Wade (who is the son of Lisa another daughter from his first wife and had predeceased Tref) and Wade’s wife Morgan and their two children Crew Walker and Caroline James, another grandson Cole, and a close cousin Yvonne.

A memorial gathering celebrating the life of Tref will begin at 1:30 PM, Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Grant Community Center, 4580 1st Street, Grant-Valkaria, Florida 32949.
